Maximum of 5000 chars. Tikidom, the people who brought you the Rolling Tiki Bar in 2002 and the Cuddlebug Camp last year, want to take you to the stars. Ride the disco bus or let the supernova dragon lead you to the celery-peanut-butter supernova dome for daily yoga, snacks, art and performances. It is reserved for camps that have: 24 hour interactivity Completely conceived visual scheme Playa-frontage needs, small art installations across the Esplanade. Must be on the playa by Monday, 8.30.2004 by 6 PM Non-Esplanade: This is a high visibility location on the streets behind the Esplanade. Located within the city limits. This is for fun interactive camps without need for playa frontage. Camps must be on site by Tuesday, 8.31.2004 by 10 PM Center Camp: Highly interactive camps that fit into the center camp "groove" with 20 people or less. Camps must be in by Sunday, 8.29.2004 and running by Monday, 8.30.2004 The Plazas: Highly interactive camps that fit into the plaza area "groove" with 20 people or less. Camps must be in by Sunday, 8.29.2004 and running by Monday, 8.30.2004 by 6 PM. Large Scale Sound Art: Located at the ends of the city, this area is filled depending on space availability and reserved for camps with large sound systems. After these spaces are filled, you will not be able to bring your system. Comments Please list any special needs or comments that you might like to make. Our ideal space: a corner lot with 100 feet of road space on each of two sides, somewhere between 4 and 6 o'clock. But we'll do whatever you say. We're good kids. We only cause the good kind of trouble. Project Details and Practical Information Physical Description Please describe the physical aspects of your camps project with as much detail as possible. Include a description of the visual impact of your project and prominent physical features like structures, buildings, tents and platforms, location of generators and clean up plan. Maximum of 5000 chars. A large lit sign that says Tikidom and our Tiki flag are both displayed on a van parked by the road. A 13 ft tall inner-lit celery beakon of corrugated green acrylic bolted to a weighted filler foam "peanut butter" base sits next to the green carpet runner at the entrance of the celery-peanut-butter supernova dome, a 24 foot covered dome, very colorful, with a huge supernova mobile hanging inside from the center, lots of twinkly star lights about, with an annexed 15' white covered dome connected by shade canopies covered in large fabric flowers. Next to the dome is a 7 ft tall cylinder resembling a jar of peanut butter (that happens to serve as our camp shower). The space between the Tiki signs and the dome and shower is performance space for the celery-peanut-butter supernova dragon and a fire thing. Also requiring road space is our 40' long disco bus art car, that will pull in and out. Parked off the road behind the driveway of the disco bus is a stationary bus and a 20 ft. scaffolding with veiwing platform. Behind the dome is our camp kitchen space, equipped with gas grills, concealed generators, tables/chairs and several large covered trash containers to seperate clean burnables, recyclables and trash. Smaller vehicles will be parked to separate our public works from our tents, camper (1 pop-up) and RV's (2). All large structures will be secured to the playa with guy wires and safely covered rebar. All structures, vehicles, tents, bikes and trash will, of course, be taken back out the way they came in. There is an aerial map on our website. Interactivity Description Please describe your camp's interactive concepts and goals. Include your past history, philosophy, personal interactivity with the community. Maximum of 5000 chars. Hangout space: the dome will be a comfy and inspirational haven open for burner hang out 24 hours a day. Services: daily late-morning 90-minute spirited yoga classes will keep burners bendy. daily early-afternoon snacks of celery sticks with peanut butter, raisins and/or cheese will nourish them. Performances: The aforementioned snacks will be cerved by tikidomers in space-celery suits. Before snack time a chinese-style dragon will dance in front of the supernova dome, luring (corraling) burner into the dome for snack time.
